Biloxi

The four of us at Bellingrath Gardens near Mobile.

John, Barbara and Papa at the pool at the hotel. It was way too cool to even think about swimming.

Papa and I took our first old folks tour last week and spent three nights at the Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi, MS.

Everything was brand new as Katrina tore everything up when she came through. In addition to the Beau Rivage we went to the Hard Rock Casino (as in Cafe) and saw the most amazing textile sculpture. It consisted of all the bras and panties that had been thrown on stage by some group's (can't remember who it was) admiring groupies.

Also so many costumes and instruments from every group that you could think of including one of Madonna's signature outfits. The Dave Mathews Band was well represented.

We had a good time, but I didn't particularly like being tied to the bus as I'm used to having my own car but for a few days it was great and I'd like to do it again.

The first night there, we went to the casino, of course. I put a dollar in the nickel slots and walked away with $251. I cashed that baby in right then and there!.

The food was wonderful. Great piles of steamed or iced crab legs and some of the best boiled shrimp I've ever eaten. Tons of food but those were the things that I heaped my plate with.

See, when you get old, you too can go on an old folk's tour and maybe even get early bird specials.

Love,

Mom
